Sushil K. Choudhury is the Managing Director of Blowtech Air Devices Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of HVAC fans in India. He is a qualified engineer with over 20 years experience in the design, development and manufacture of fans. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1972 from the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India and then moved to Canada. After obtaining a master’s degree in engineering in 1974 from the University of New Brunswick and then a master’s in management science in 1977 from the University of Toronto, he worked in Canada for about 10 years with a large utility company in Vancouver in the areas of energy management and fan application engineering.
Mr. Choudhury returned to India in 1987 and founded Blowtech. His dedicated efforts towards innovation, commitment, resilience, technological advancement, social & corporate responsibility has earned the company a respectable and dominant name in the HVAC & R industry.
In addition to the overall management of the company, his special interests lie in the design, development and testing of fans. Over the last 20 years he has designed a number of fans for use in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning.
Keen on giving back to society, Mr. Choudhury takes his social responsibilities very seriously. This is manifested in his passion for teaching and active involvement in ASHRAE & ISHRAE. He is the ISHRAE President for society year 2012-2013.
Prior to this, he has served the societies as President of ISHRAE Delhi Chapter, President of ASHRAE India Chapter and National Secretary ISHRAE HQ. He has won many honours & awards for his sincere work and commitment towards the two societies.
To fulfill this passion for teaching, he serves on the faculty of the ISHRAE Institute of Excellence (IIE). He is also on the “Panel of Distinguished Lecturers” of ISHRAE on Fans for HVAC&R. He is regularly invited to conduct workshops on subjects such as “Fans for HVAC&R” and “Kitchen Ventilation” all across India.
Mr. Choudhury has also written a six-part “Classroom Series” on “Fan Engineering Fundamentals” for the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Journal which was later published as a book by the ISHRAE Mumbai Chapter.
Mr. Choudhury's daughters form an integral part of the Blowtech team.
Yesha Choudhury - After completing her schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba road New Delhi she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Management studies from IILM, New Delhi. She joined Blowtech in 2004 as Director.
Apart from being an active member of ASHRAE & ISHRAE, she is a part of the Delhi Chapter of ISHRAE Working committee.
She has also served as the Treasurer - Delhi Chapter (society year 2010-2011).
Neha Choudhury - Neha obtained a BA (Hons.) degree in Economics from the esteemed Hansraj College , Delhi University after finishing her basic education at Modern School, Barakhamba road New Delhi.
She further persued her MBA from Amity University, Noida. She joined Blowtech as Director in 2007.
